Pet Transport from Switzerland to South Korea
Switzerland to South Korea is a relatively clean route on the documentation side. South Korea's APQA does not require a titre test for pets from Switzerland, which removes the 3-6 month waiting period that complicates …
The import process, step by step
Every step must be completed in sequence. Starting early is critical: a missed deadline can add months.

What your pet needs to enter South Korea
Every item below must be completed and verified. We manage and cross-check each one.
What this route typically costs
Critical points
APQA advance notification must be submitted at least 5 days before arrival. Late notification causes delay or refusal at Incheon.
Health certificate must be issued within 10 days of travel. FSVO endorsement appointments book up, plan ahead.
There is no direct Zurich-Seoul flight for pet cargo. Confirm hub transit procedures with your airline cargo team.
Carriers approved for this route
Not all airlines accept live animals on this route. We know which carriers to use and how to book live animal cargo correctly.
South Korea's approach to Swiss-origin pets
APQA classifies origin countries by rabies risk level. Switzerland, with its well-documented rabies control programme and EU-equivalent veterinary standards, is treated similarly to EU member states for APQA purposes. The practical result: no titre test required, no mandatory waiting period, and no routine quarantine.
What you do need is a solid health certificate. The APQA inspector at Incheon checks your pet’s microchip, vaccination record, and health certificate on arrival. Any discrepancy, wrong microchip number on the certificate, vaccination recorded after the chip implant date, can delay release. The FSVO-authorised vet who issues the certificate should be familiar with Asian destination requirements.
Getting from Zurich to Seoul Incheon
There’s no direct Zurich-Seoul pet cargo flight. The route connects via a European hub, Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Amsterdam (KLM), or via SWISS’s partner connections to ICN. Korean Air Cargo operates direct connections to Seoul from various European hubs.
For flat-nosed breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs), Lufthansa restricts brachycephalic dogs from cargo year-round. Check breed restrictions with your chosen airline before booking.
SWISS Cargo is the natural starting point for enquiries given the ZRH departure airport, though Korean Air Cargo often has competitive options for this corridor.
