Pets travel as manifested cargo in a temperature-controlled hold, never in the cabin.
American Airlines
Flies Miami to Hewanorra close to daily, around 15 flights a week as of June 2026, connecting onward toward the UK via Miami and American's own transatlantic network or its oneworld partnership with British Airways. Small pets travel in the cabin under 8kg including carrier; larger dogs go as cargo.
JetBlue
Flies JFK to Hewanorra year-round nonstop, with an added second weekly Saturday flight from late November through January. JetBlue only carries small pets in the cabin, so it works as a first leg toward a separate transatlantic connection, not as a through-booking for a larger dog.
