The 3-month wait is counted from the blood draw date, not from the day the titre result is issued. Treat the draw date as the fixed point, not the paperwork date.

Microchip must be implanted before or on the same day as the rabies vaccination. Reverse the order and the vaccination doesn't count for the sequence.

A titre result below 0.5 IU/ml means re-vaccination, a fresh blood draw, and the 3-month wait restarting from that new draw date, plus a new FSVO application if the original approval window has passed.

Work backwards from your travel date and add a buffer. Fixed waiting periods mean a single slipped appointment can push the whole move back by weeks.

Check the airline’s crate size and labelling rules early. An undersized or wrongly labelled crate is a frequent reason pets are refused at check-in.

Pets from these countries need advance permission from the FSVO before entry, applied for at least 3 weeks ahead. Without it, the pet cannot legally enter Switzerland, regardless of how complete the rest of the documentation is.

In practice, close to it. Switzerland frames the wait as a 3-month waiting period from the blood draw date, rather than the EU’s 90-day language. Both are counted from the date blood was drawn for the titre test, not the result date.

It must be implanted before, or at the latest on the same day as, the first rabies vaccination. If the vaccination happens first, it does not count toward the titre test sequence and the process has to restart.

Zurich (ZRH) is the main entry point on this route, with Geneva (GVA) as an alternative depending on the airline’s routing. A Swiss border vet checks all documentation, including the FSVO permission and the health certificate, at the point of entry.
