Your pet needs a valid microchip (ISO standard), current rabies vaccination, and an official health certificate endorsed by MLF. Specific destination countries may require additional documents such as a titre test result, import permit, or specific certificate formats.
Export health certificate from MLF-registered vet, endorsed by MLF. Export permit may be required for some destinations.
The best airline depends on your destination. Air Tanzania operates cargo-only pet services from Tanzania. Always confirm live animal acceptance with the airline before booking.
No export breed ban applies in Tanzania. However, your destination country may restrict certain breeds. Always check destination country rules.
Start at least 3 months before travel for most destinations. For Australia, New Zealand, or Mauritius, start 7-8 months ahead because of mandatory titre test waiting periods (180 days) and limited quarantine facility availability.
