What does Luxembourg require before your pet leaves?
- Export health certificate: Where the destination country requires an animal health certificate, the pet's own (treating) vet may issue it; ALVA official vets (Division santé et bien-être animal) can then, by appointment and after a check, endorse the certificate and the pet passport entries with stamp and signature. Applies to dogs and cats leaving Luxembourg for non-EU countries.

Entry rules for pets are set separately by each destination country, so owners must check with the destination's authorities in good time which documents are needed; a rabies titre test, if required, is arranged through the treating vet.
