Pet Transport from Kenya to Canada
Which Canada rules depend on a pet coming from Kenya?
Canada sets different rules for 3 groups of countries, and the official wording does not settle on its own which group covers Kenya. Check the group table in our Canada guide before you plan.
None of the Canada rules we have verified names Kenya on its own.
The rules that apply to every pet entering Canada, whatever the origin, are listed with their official sources in our Canada guide.
What does Kenya require before your pet leaves?
- Export health certificate: Per the Kenya Trade Information Portal: exports of dogs and cats are regulated by the DVS, which issues an international veterinary certificate confirming the destination's conditions are met; exports through JKIA follow a 13-step clearance procedure (clearing agent, customs entry, DVS release, KRA release). Applies to dogs and cats leaving Kenya.

Applies to dogs and cats exported through JKIA.
