The EU and UK maintain lists of laboratories approved for rabies titre testing. Kazakhstan does not currently have an approved laboratory, which means blood samples drawn in Almaty or Astana need to be shipped to an approved lab elsewhere.

Turkey and Germany both have approved labs that accept international samples. Your vet or a pet transport agent should confirm the current approved lab list and provide cold-chain sample shipping guidance. Allow 2-3 weeks for the round-trip sample transit and results return.

The 3-month wait starts from the day blood was drawn, not from when results came back. This means even a 2-week lab turnaround does not extend the waiting period - it just leaves you waiting slightly longer after results arrive.
