Health certificate dual window: plan carefully
The AFCD health certificate for Japan must meet two simultaneous timing windows: issued within 10 days of Hong Kong departure, AND within 7 days of Japan arrival. With a 4-hour HKG-NRT flight, both windows align comfortably if the AFCD vet appointment is booked in the 7 days before departure.
AFCD endorsement takes additional processing time beyond the vet appointment, allow 2-3 days for endorsement in normal periods. Book the vet appointment 5-7 days before departure to give AFCD enough time to endorse before you fly.
