The BARANTAN iQFast permit: start here
Before anything else, apply for the BARANTAN import permit through the iQFast online portal. This is the Indonesian government’s authorisation for your pet to enter Indonesia, and it specifies the approved entry point, the quarantine facility, and the documentation requirements for your specific pet.
Without the permit, the flight booking is premature. The iQFast system processes applications from registered accounts. An experienced Indonesian pet transport agent can assist with the application if the online process is unfamiliar. Allow 4 to 8 weeks for permit processing and potential queries.
30-day quarantine: planning for it
Indonesia’s 30-day quarantine is not negotiable and exists across all entry points. Your pet is held at a BARANTAN-designated facility at Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) or another approved entry airport. The owner is responsible for all quarantine costs, including facility fees, food, and veterinary checks during the stay.
Budget carefully: quarantine facility costs in Indonesia vary but can be significant over 30 days. Your cargo agent or an Indonesian pet transport specialist can advise on the current facility costs at CGK and how to arrange the booking in advance of your pet’s arrival.
