Importing Your Pet to Kenya
Moderate to importKenya requires an import permit from the Directorate of Veterinary Services (DVS) before any pet can be imported. The permit is obtained by submitting health documentation to DVS. Pets need microchip, rabies vaccination, and an official health certificate endorsed by the origin country’s authority.
Some origins also require a rabies titre test. Mandatory quarantine is required on arrival at the owner’s expense (typically 7 days for compliant pets). The quarantine facility must be pre-booked before travel.
