Norwegian Forest Cat Air Travel Guide

Norwegian Forest Cats are large, semi-longhaired cats with no breed bans anywhere and no airline-specific restrictions. Their weight (4-9 kg for adults) means some individuals will qualify for in-cabin travel while larger cats travel as cargo.

Their thick double coat creates mild temperature considerations similar to Arctic dog breeds: in very hot conditions, the coat retains heat. Standard cargo hold temperature controls are adequate, but long ground handling in hot conditions is worth monitoring.

Health paperwork follows the standard cat import process for whichever destination you’re heading to.
