Armenia to Germany is a route that requires planning well in advance. Armenia is an EU unlisted country, which means the full EU unlisted process applies: a FAVN titre test, a 90-day wait after a successful result, and then an EU health …

Critical points to read before you book
The 90-day wait after a successful titre test is a hard legal minimum under EU regulations. It cannot be shortened. If you pass the titre test on day 1, you cannot enter the EU until day 91. Plan accordingly.
Microchip before vaccination. The sequence is critical. If the chip is implanted after the rabies vaccination, the vaccination does not count for EU purposes and you restart.
EU-approved laboratories for the FAVN test are mostly in Europe and North America. Your Armenian vet needs to draw the blood correctly and ship it cold to the approved lab. Confirm your vet has done this before.
Armenia is not EU-listed. Despite being geographically close to the EU and having a trade agreement with it, Armenia does not benefit from the simplified listed-country rules. The full unlisted process applies.

What unlisted country status actually means for Armenian pets
The EU divides countries for pet import purposes into listed and unlisted. Listed countries (like the USA, UK, Canada, and several others) have equivalent pet travel rules and benefit from simpler entry: no titre test, just a valid health certificate and current vaccination.
Armenia is not on the listed country register. This means any dog or cat moving from Armenia to an EU member state like Germany must go through the unlisted process. In practical terms, this is: microchip first (before vaccination), then rabies vaccination, wait 30 days, FAVN titre test at an EU-approved laboratory, then a mandatory 90-day wait from the successful blood draw date before the pet can enter the EU.
The 90-day wait is law. It exists to ensure adequate immune response. There is no appeal, no fast-track, and no equivalence agreement between Armenia and the EU that waives this requirement.
Finding an EU-approved laboratory from Armenia
The FAVN titre test must be done at a laboratory approved by the EU competent authority. Most EU-approved labs are in Europe, the UK, or North America. From Armenia, this means international sample shipping.
Your Armenian vet draws the blood, stores it in the correct medium (typically with a preservative like sodium azide), and ships it via a courier service to the approved lab. The lab processes the sample and issues a result, typically within 2-4 weeks of receipt.
Ask your vet explicitly whether they have processed international titre test samples before. If not, a pet transport specialist can help coordinate the correct laboratory, the shipping process, and the result documentation. Getting the sample to the wrong lab, or improperly stored, wastes a month and forces a retest.
FAQ
Common questions about Armenia to Germany pet transport
No. Armenia’s EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) covers trade and economic cooperation but does not change EU veterinary import classifications for pets. Armenia remains an EU unlisted country for pet travel purposes, and the full unlisted process (FAVN titre test plus 90-day wait) applies.
The earliest possible travel date is 90 days after the successful blood draw, regardless of when the result comes back from the laboratory. If you draw blood on 1 January and the result (0.5 IU/ml or above) comes back on 20 January, you still cannot enter Germany before 1 April. This wait cannot be shortened.
No direct cargo pet service operates from Yerevan to Germany. The most practical routing is via Istanbul (Turkish Airlines Cargo) or via a hub with a dedicated cargo service. Lufthansa has connections via Frankfurt. Air France/KLM connections via CDG or AMS are another option. Confirm live animal cargo acceptance on the specific flight before booking.
