SriLankan Airlines does not accept privately owned pets in the passenger cabin on international routes. Pets travelling with passengers on SriLankan Airlines international flights must travel in the hold as checked baggage or as manifest cargo.
SriLankan Airlines accepts pets as checked baggage in the hold on many of its international routes, subject to crate size and weight limits. Pets must be in an IATA-compliant hard-sided crate. Pre-booking is required. Contact SriLankan Airlines cargo or a specialist agent to confirm current acceptance for your specific route.
To enter Sri Lanka, your pet needs: a microchip (ISO standard), current rabies vaccination, a health certificate from an accredited vet endorsed by the national authority, and a veterinary import permit from the Department of Animal Production and Health (DAPH) in Sri Lanka. SriLankan Airlines will require documentation before loading.
