Frequently Asked Questions

Oman Air does not permit pets in the passenger cabin on its international routes. Pets travel as checked cargo in the hold. Confirm current policy for your specific route with Oman Air.

Oman Air requires IATA-compliant hard-sided crates. The crate must be large enough for the animal to stand, turn around, sit, and lie down naturally. Water and food dishes must be accessible from outside without opening the crate door.

Pets entering Oman need an import permit from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, a government-endorsed health certificate from the origin country, microchip, and current rabies vaccination. Certain breeds may be restricted.

Like other Gulf carriers, Oman Air applies temperature restrictions on live animal cargo, particularly in summer months when Muscat temperatures regularly exceed 40C. Plan travel for cooler months where possible and confirm seasonal live animal acceptance before booking.
