Germany is a listed country under DAFF’s framework. This is the standard pathway:

Stage 1: Microchip and Vaccination (Month 0)

• Confirm ISO 15-digit microchip in place before any vaccination is recorded
• Administer or confirm current rabies vaccination

Stage 2: Titre Test (Month 1-2)

• Blood sample taken by German vet
• Sent to DAFF-approved laboratory
• Result must be ≥0.5 IU/mL to proceed
• Allow 2-4 weeks for result

Stage 3: 180-Day Wait (Months 2-8)

• The 180-day clock starts from DAFF’s notification of a satisfactory titre result
• Keep all vaccinations current; do not allow any to lapse

Stage 4: Health Certificate and Booking (Month 7-8)

• Download DAFF-specific health certificate format from agriculture.gov.au
• German vet (OV/official vet) completes the certificate within the DAFF validity window before travel
• German competent authority endorses the certificate

Stage 5: Travel and Quarantine
