WestJet permits small pets in the cabin on select routes. The combined weight of the pet and carrier must not exceed 10kg (22lbs). The carrier must fit under the seat in front. Only cats and small dogs are accepted in cabin - not birds or other animals. One pet per passenger.

WestJet accepts dogs as checked cargo (Pets as Cargo program) for larger animals that cannot travel in cabin. The dog must travel in an IATA-approved hard-sided kennel. Temperature restrictions apply - WestJet does not accept cargo pets when ground temperatures exceed or fall below certain thresholds.

WestJet restricts brachycephalic (flat-faced) dog and cat breeds from cargo travel, and may also restrict them from cabin travel. Restricted breeds include Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Persian cats, and similar breeds. Confirm your breed with WestJet at time of booking.

WestJet operates domestically within Canada and on select international routes including to the USA, Caribbean, Mexico, and UK. Pet acceptance on international vs domestic routes can vary. Confirm live animal policies for your specific route when booking.
