Lion Air’s pet transport is primarily available on domestic Indonesian routes. International routes are more limited and policies vary. For international transport to or from Indonesia involving Lion Air, confirm current acceptance on your specific route directly with Lion Air cargo or the airline’s booking team.
Pets on Lion Air travel as checked baggage or cargo, not in the cabin. Contact Lion Air’s cargo division or call the Lion Air contact centre to make a live animal booking. Online booking is not available for pets – it requires a direct enquiry. Fees are charged per kilogram of total weight (pet plus crate).
Lion Air is the low-cost arm; Batik Air (now operating as Batik Air Indonesia) is the full-service premium arm of the Lion Air Group. Batik Air historically has had slightly more flexible policies for live animal transport.
