Frequently Asked Questions

EVA Air permits small pets in the cabin on some routes. The combined weight of pet and carrier must generally not exceed 7kg. The carrier must fit under the seat in front. Cabin pet acceptance varies by route - confirm with EVA Air for your specific origin-destination.

Dogs that exceed the cabin weight limit, or that are not accepted in cabin on a specific route, travel as checked baggage or air cargo in the hold. IATA-compliant hard-sided crates are required. Confirm breed and weight acceptance at time of booking.

EVA Air restricts brachycephalic breeds (flat-faced dogs and cats) from cargo transport, including Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Persian cats, and others. Check EVA Air’s current restricted breeds list before booking.

Pets entering Taiwan need a government-endorsed health certificate from the origin country, rabies vaccination, microchip, and a Taiwan Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine (BAPHIQ) import permit. A quarantine period applies. See the Taiwan pet import guide for full details.
